Points Program
General Information
- Cascade Swim Club Points Program is in place to ensure the workload required by our club to host swim meets is shared equally among our membership. Points only apply to Cascade Hosted Meets.
- It takes between 50-450 officials and other swim meet volunteers (depending on the level of meet) to run any one meet. The number of points required depends on the number of meets Cascade hosts during each season and how many swimmers are a part of our club.
- Your points commitment depends on the group your swimmer is in (please see below). If you have more than one swimmer with the club your commitment is only for the points of the highest level swimmer (not the total of all swimmers).
- At the start of the new season, the club will calculate the number of points required by each group and session. It is your responsibility to work the total points assessed by the deadline so that you do not incur a charge on your account. Each point that is not worked is assessed a $100 penalty. Cancellation of shifts within 48 hours of the session warm-up times (either AM or PM) require an approved & qualified (qualifications vary depending on the position for which you are signed up to work) substitute be found by the cancelling member.

Officials Training and Sign Up
Points are earned by working Cascade hosted swim meets. Most points are earned by officiating on deck (officials course required) and non course required on deck roles (hospitality, gate access, awards etc.).
- Officials Deposit - in order to maintain enough trained officials to run a swim meet, we ask members to take a class and and train a new position each year. There is an $150 officials deposit added to your registration to help support this initiative. Once you have taken the course and shadowed the position on deck one time you will communicate this to the Certification Lead and the deposit will be refunded to your account.
- Officiating Sign Up - when we are hosting a meet, you will receive an email letting you know that the job sign up will open on a certain date and time. When the sign up is open you will log into your account and view the sign up on our home page under events. You just click on job sign up and pick a job that you are qualified to do.
Please check your calendars carefully before signing up, as last minute changes are extremely difficult to manage. Our Officials Coordinator will close sign up 10 days prior to start of meet. Any changes or cancellations within this time will require you to find your replacement.
Requesting a Shadow Position - with the exception of Timer, please do not sign-up on-line for a position in which you are not trained for (taken course and shadowed the position). To request a shadow position, email the Officials Coordinator once sign-up opens with your availability and they will let you know if you can be scheduled for a mentor session.
- Non - Hosted Meets - You may have the opportunity to commit your time for non-hosted meets (a meet not hosted by Cascade) based on the needs of the host-club. Points for non-hosted meets are worth half of Cascade Hosted Meet Points. Non - Hosted Meets are not part of Point requirements.
- All Information regarding Officiating Courses can be found on our Officiating Page
