Western Transmountain Festival 2026
Celebrating the Success of the WTF 2026 Tour
The WTF 2026 Tour has officially wrapped—and what an incredible event it was.
Thanks to the dedication and support of our Cascade Swim Club families, swimmers, officials, and volunteers, this year’s tour was not only successful but truly exceptional. Across the event, Cascade swimmers competed in more than 3,000 races, showcasing the depth, determination, and spirit that define our club.
One of the most meaningful endorsements came from Swim Ontario CEO Dean Boles, who attended specifically to observe how Cascade delivers an event of this scale. His feedback highlighted what we already know: the positivity, professionalism, and commitment of our officials and volunteers are second to none.
A Meet Like No Other
Running six full days of racing over an eight-day span is an enormous undertaking—and one that no other club in Canada currently attempts. The fact that Cascade can deliver an event of this scale speaks directly to the strength of our community.
Behind the scenes, our meet organizing and management teams worked tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the competition and throughout the event itself. Hundreds of parent officials—primarily from Cascade, along with support from other clubs—came together to ensure everything ran seamlessly from start to finish.
We extend our sincere thanks to:
- Meet Managers & Event Leads: Jamie, Leigh-Anne, Laurie, Shelley
- Hospitality Team: Vicky, Dom, Shayna
- Officiating Coordinator: Amy
- Officials Development Leaders (ODLs): Jenny, Ashley, Cailin, Roseanne
Your leadership and effort made this event possible.
Why Do We Do It This Way?
Why three meets? Why involve the entire club? Why so many races?
The answer is simple: because it works.
Cascade has never been afraid to innovate. Our ability to host meets of this scale is rooted in having some of the best-trained and most committed volunteers and officials in Canada. More importantly, our events are designed with one goal in mind: swimmer development.
Racing remains one of the most powerful tools for athlete growth.
- Younger swimmers achieved remarkable improvements, with 10–20 second drops in 50m events.
- Experienced athletes sharpened their performance, achieving gains measured in tenths and hundredths of a second—margins that matter at higher levels of competition.
This builds on a season of innovation for Cascade, including:
- The first-ever double-ended meet at Seton (December)
- The longest swim meet in Canada, now in its second consecutive year
Everything our coaches design in training comes to life when swimmers step onto the blocks—and the results speak for themselves.
Performance Highlights
Cascade delivered outstanding results across all three meets, achieving the highest percentage of personal best times among comparable clubs:
- WTF I: 76% best times (highest volume of swims)
- WTF II: 50% best times (highest volume of swims)
- WTF III: 70% best times (highest volume of swims)
These numbers reflect not just performance, but preparation, commitment, and a willingness to embrace racing opportunities.
While every club enters competition with different training cycles and objectives, Cascade athletes consistently demonstrated their ability to race, learn, and improve at an exceptional level.
By the Numbers
The scale of this year’s event was remarkable:
- 1,009 swimmers
- Including 5 Olympians and 6 National Junior Team athletes
- 10 sessions supported by approximately 500 volunteer shifts
- 5,400 entries and 8,004 swims
- Multiple WTF Series, pool, and Cascade club records
- Numerous personal bests and new qualifying standards (Festival, Trials, Champs, Best of the West Fest)
Looking Ahead
With the WTF 2026 Tour complete, Cascade now shifts focus to the Championship season in March and April. Based on the performances we’ve seen, our swimmers are exceptionally well-positioned for continued success at the next level of competition.
Thank You, Cascade Community
None of this would be possible without the collective effort of our swimmers, families, volunteers, and officials. Your contributions continue to elevate Cascade Swim Club as a leader in athlete development and event excellence across Canada.
Thank you for being part of something truly special.
